Consecration, Community and Christ are three new titles from the Student Life series of daily devotionals written for teenage believers. Each volume contains 48 weeks’ worth of strong biblical content with five devotions written for each week. (Save your calculator battery, that’s 240 devotions per book.) Each devotion rolls out a consistent progression for the student to work through the material. Every week has a memory verse and topical introduction. Then for each of the five days there is a Scripture, short devotion, investigative questions, and considerable space for journaling.
The bulk of comparable devotional resources available today tend not to sustain a consistent subject matter for a considerable length of time without changing topics. In contrast, using these editions, students with the commitment required for such an undertaking would spend nearly a year delving deeper and deeper into just one biblical principle while working through relevant Scripture and critical thinking questions as the primary sources for their growth.
If any of the topics of these devotionals are something you really want to hit home with your students, here is a chance to have them study it daily for almost a year. However, be sure to think through the level of accountability this amount of content will require in your ministry context.
