A new study suggests that, while all-nighters may be a rite of passage in college, they actually may chip away at students’ grade-point averages.
According to researchers at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., students who pull all nighters report slightly lower-than-average GPAs than their better-rested schoolmates. Apparently, staying up all night makes it more likely that a student’s reactions will be slower and they’ll be more likely to make a mistake. Who knew?
