Sometimes the college degree hanging on the wall can deliver false hope. There are many college grads who cross the stage and stand at the other side, clueless about what their next steps should be. Paul Angone aims to encourage and help direct these confused college grads by sharing his own life story in his new book All Groan Up.
The entire book is filled with Angone’s personal misconceptions and detours in his early 20s. He writes in a very conversational style that can be quite comedic at times. Each chapter presents different stories from his life; through his stories, he shares his life lessons. He writes about his misconceptions about life post-college, first jobs, chasing his dreams and trying to figure out his purpose. Angone relies heavily on his personal testimony to teach young college grads what to do and what not to do next. Although his lessons are biblical, they are taught without the Bible or many Scripture references.
All Groan Up was written to and for early 20-somethings, and is written with a compassion for the next generation, hoping to give readers direction and teach them from his life lessons. Also, his screw-ups and misconceptions can bring a young 20-something hope that he or she isn’t the only one struggling. His website AllGroanUp.com provides extra content that helps young adults answer the question, “What’s next?”
