Camp is packed with fun and adventure. Inevitably someone is going to get hurt. Randy Rainwater calls it “ghastly arithmetic.”
“It’s a year’s worth of ministry,” he says, “and if you played football with your kids every day, somebody would get hurt.”
Bringing a nurse or doctor along is a must. Randy usually is able to find one or two parents who fit that professional description who are willing to come to all or part of camp. He’s also quick to let parents know what has happened. “The minute a kid gets hurt, I’m on the phone with his or her parents explaining what’s going on,” he says.
