McLaren’s first e-book Word of the Lord to Democrats launched March 14. The second, Word of the Lord to Evangelicals released April 2. Volume three, Word of the Lord to Republicans will debut April 16.
McLaren says his political comedic musings are his way of breaking a logjam in public discourse.
“I’ve found that adults tend to absorb the most information when they are laughing, so with these e-books, I’ve mixed a little medicine in with the sugar,” says McLaren. “I hope people will laugh and think. If they dare do so, maybe they’ll feel a little more liberated from the polarized, paralyzed status quo.
“We’ve become stagnant in our thought, and our leaders too predictable. It’s time for some fresh forward thinking and perspective from beyond ourselves,” concludes McLaren.
