Today’s children and youth face an extremely difficult lifestyle. Broken homes, peer pressure, self-centered culture and the lack of biblical morality create rough living environments for the future of our church. With insight from several scholars, Moore and Wright discuss our opportunity and responsibility to “create conditions in which (youth) can flourish.”
The first half of the book covers the issues our teens face today. The scholars cover such issues as children in the public circle, society’s philosophy of a “princess childhood” and the reality of violence within schools.
Part two switches gears and discusses how churches can help choose life for today’s children and youth. They give excellent applications about how we can affect the lives of younger generations. Although the book is lengthy and written with detail, it has given me several examples of how to grow my youth ministry in relational ways.
