Chuck Bomar has developed 45 college-age ministries and previously served nine years as a student ministry pastor. Clearly, ministering to college-age people is a passion of his, and this is reflected in the purpose of this book: to aid in developing ministry programs for this often-forgotten demographic. However, I found this to be the type of book that is given to those just finishing seminary and entering the ministry, which will remain on the bookshelf, rarely to see the light of day again.

While Bomar’s intentions are wellplaced, his execution is lacking. It seems as if Bomar cannot decide whether he wants to explore a psychological understanding of 20-somethings or teach how to establish an effective ministry for 20-somethings. As a result, neither path is truly developed. I found there to be little new or compelling information in this well-intentioned but misguided attempt to provide assistance to those attempting to develop college-age ministries.
