Christian Post reports that preacher, author, and speaker Francis Chan will be leaving his position at Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, Calif., to pursue a “new adventure” with God. Chan made clear his decision isn’t prompted by immorality, discipline or disputes within the church. Rather, he’s long felt a restlessness and stirring to let go of the church he founded 16 years ago to “do something different.”
“I’m excited about it,” Chan told members and visitors at his church when he made the announcement Apr 18. “I’m sad about it. At moments, I’m afraid of it.” (Listen to or watch the message on Cornerstone’s website.)
Chan explained in this interview with Catalyst that it’s a calling he struggled with for years:

Chan will preach at Cornerstone through May and is scheduled for speaking engagements during the summer. He then plans to take his family to a third world country where they will care for victims of the slave trade and orphans while spending time seeking the Lord.
