Getting Your Feet Dirty chronicles the transformation that occurred in the lives of the first few thousand followers of Jesus. By bringing to life the details of the biblical story found in Acts 2 and highlighting four primary tasks the new followers were called to commit to (the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer), author Don Everts explains, “We can watch these people as they are born of the Spirit, and we can learn a lot about what it means to become one of Jesus’ followers.”
Everts’ message, rooted in his experience in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship ministry, is an important one at a time when Christians are often viewed as living untransformed lives. Targeting primarily new Christians as well as seekers, Everts’ clear focus, accessible style, and openness to questions make this a useful guide for individuals embarking on the journey of following Jesus.
