Once the Codex Sinaiticus revolutionized the way we interacted with the Bible. Now electronic media are having a similar effect.
GoBible Traveler brings one back to the original auditory experience of God’s Word, but this time it’s individualized and lightweight. You can select from three translations and receive a self-contained audio Bible straight from the box (includes headphones and battery). Those who have iPods would laugh if you offered this to them, but GoBible also offers MP3s for download. For the iPodless looking to listen to the Bible on the go with nice narration, this is a relatively well-priced solution.
Glo blows paradigms. Have you seen those futuristic computer interfaces, such as on Minority Report? Glo offers a fun and sweeping interactive vista with masses of Bible study content that is continually updated online. For the disciplined who delve into the study aids, this is a godsend. For those still trying to avoid actually reading the Bible, Glo provides much potential distraction. Watch for the Mac version next year.
For a more versatile audio Bible, you probably can find a cheaper MP3 player and buy a translation to load on it. For Bible study, Glo is worth thorough investigation and investment.
