Holly Wagner co-pastors The Oasis Church in Los Angeles, is the founder of GodChicks and the author of the book by the same name. In this title, hubby Philip partners with her to offer advice on having a sense of completeness in one’s identity in Christ, recognizing good qualities in a mate, dating and maintaining a healthy reality-based, God-centered marriage.
The Wagners say nothing that hasn’t been said before in a how-to-have-a-happy-marriage book. However, with chapters such as “Victorious Secrets” and “Shift Happens,” they say it succinctly, conversationally, with humor and the insight of more than two decades of marriage and countless pastoral counseling appointments. Each chapter is written either by Holly or Philip; the chapters conclude with Philip’s “Just for the Men” perspective.
This would make a great read-before-you-date or engagement gift.
