Sean McDowell (son of author/speaker Josh McDowell) is the host of the DVD sessions. It’s a high-quality video production that includes six sessions (or “Signposts”…he explains the fairly cheesy journey-quest-trip motif) that give permission for students to ask and wrestle with tough questions (the reliability/validity of the Bible, the deity of Jesus, the credibility of a creationist perspective, and why there is pain/suffering in the world—the last one was exceptional). Sean does most of the talking, but various guest appearances provide some additional insight in each session (Lee Strobel, Miles McPherson, Josh McDowell, Dave Dravecky, Mark Strauss and Barbara Wise). Although the Leader’s Guide is weak, the Student Guide is filled with great questions, room to journal, instruments to assess perspective and insights that take the students far beyond the brief 15-minute video clips. The Student Guide also includes great quotes, bibliographic information for further reading, solid biblical insight and some creative ice-breaker questions. This would be a great option for a group of seekers or very new Christ-followers who are still asking some tough questions.
