The Circle trilogy follows the epic, adrenaline-laced struggle of good against evil in two spiritually contrasting worlds. The link between these worlds is one man: Thomas Hunter.
In preceding books Black, Red and White, adults and older teens followed Thomas as he used the powers given to him by Elyon to combat the forces of evil destroying both worlds. Dekker has a gift akin to Lewis’ for making neglected themes—redeeming sacrifice, a superior new heaven and earth, the sin of betrayal—into page-turning story.
Green, a surprising beginning and end to the trilogy, is a treat for fans and newbies. Unlike many unexpected series continuations, this one doesn’t disappoint. Teens of all kinds will find parts of themselves in the heroes and villains populating Dekker’s incredible worlds, and the numerous allusions to Scripture are prime discussion starters for a group.
