In the Blink of an Eye tells the story of a police detective named David Ramsey who wrestles with the disappearance of his wife and two friends while away on vacation. In a fashion that combines the story lines of Groundhog Day and Left Behind, David comes to realize that the disappearance was actually the Rapture. As he relives the day over and over, he comes to learn more and more about God and the nature of Jesus’ second coming.
The movie, which is well-acted and produced, raises a number of terrific questions about faith, revelation and the second coming. It also does a great job of laying out the gospel message. This movie could be a useful discussion starter along any of these issues with high school or college students.
