Jesus the Fool

In recent years, the blond-haired, blue-eyed Jesus has been challenged in various ways, but never quite like this. In Jesus the Fool, Michael Frost brings a unique view of Jesus: that of whimsical jester, the man who confronts the views of the day—and our day—with satire, jokes and surprising stories. Frost offers startling and wise interpretations of many parables and actions of Jesus, confronting many traditional views. His take is refreshing and stimulating.

Jesus the Fool combines solid scholarship with anecdotes and stories. Frost seeks to challenge our assumptions not strictly through argument, but through stories, as Jesus did. The book does lack the moral imperative of a Tony Campolo or Shane Claiborne title and often acts as more of a reminder to the mature Christian than a prod. Yet, the writing quality and unique insights make the book well worth the time and money.
