History is one of our greatest allies. It tells us where we’ve been, and it’s a pretty reliable indicator of where we’re going. Mosaic Bible teams up with voices and artists throughout the history of faith and guides the reader on a yearlong journey through great themes of that faith.
Many parts of the Body of Christ followed the modernist lead of flattening the calendar into ubiquity. Mosaic cries out for us to know what time it is, whether Advent, Christmas, Epiphany and so on. Each weekly devotion points to a theme and pulls prayers, essays and art from all over the world throughout time in its support.
This Bible is the very readable NLT, but the text is littered with center column references and other distractions. Aside from that, this is a wonderful book where you can sketch or write your own thoughts about some very important ideas.
