Moving Forward develops biblical convictions for guiding youth leaders along the adventure of ministry with teenagers. Drawing on four priorities for student ministry out of Acts 2:42-47, (A)doration, (C)ommunity, (T)ruth and (S)ervice, Steiner develops an accessible theology of student ministry for transforming young lives.

Those who are Purpose Driven Youth Ministry fans will be drawn to this theology and quickly recognize the four priorities with a slight twist. The evangelism purpose is strongly included in the service priority. The greater difference is that Steiner promotes a more homogeneous view of ministry across all four priorities, while PDYM suggests a more linear approach of moving students from one purpose to the next. Moving Forward faithfully and effectively challenges us to be certain that students are engaged with God, His people, His Word and His world—an excellent companion for our journey in student ministry.
