Anderson, Cabellon and the other contributors to this handbook know what they are talking about. Their church, Bridgeway, was planted to be multicultural. For nearly 20 years, this body of believers intentionally has pursued reconciliation among all groups of people, and the diversity of their congregation proves the integrity and intensity of their pursuit.
Because this handbook is intended for church leaders who are (or wish to be) ministering to multicultural congregations, most of the chapters are on topics not directly pertinent to youth ministry. However, if you want to see your students engaging in safe and transparent group conversations about race, or if you want them to grow as recipients and ambassadors of God’s reconciling love on the cross, you will find food for thought in these pages. Then again, if these are not among your goals right now, this book will not be worth your time.
