“Borat” creator Sacha Baron Cohen brings us “Bruno,” a movie about a character of the same name who is a gay Austrian fashion reporter bringing new meaning to the word “out.” Critics and bloggers are debating whether the film is pro-gay (some conservatives fear the movie mainstreams homosexuality) or anti-gay (some pro-gay groups think the film traffics in gay stereotypes and will generate homophobic reactions).
The movie arrives at an interesting cultural moment:
