NewReleaseTuesday.com (NRT), a Christian music, social and entertainment mega-site and part of the FrontGate Media group, is announcing the launch of NRT Radio, a brand new 24/7 online radio station playing only the latest new releases in Christian music.
Listeners will notice quickly that NRT Radio is set out to break almost every rule in the industry’s playbook while offering listeners a high-quality experience different from most formats. NRT Radio will be embracing some unique guidelines on its playlist that includes only playing music from an artist’s latest release, keeping repetition of songs to a minimum and playing known radio singles, as well as deep tracks on albums, ensuring a continuously fresh playlist for listeners.
NRT Radio also will include music from multiple genres, including pop, rock, adult contemporary, urban, rap and worship.
“People love all types of music,” says NRT Founder Kevin McNeese. “There are not a lot of stations that blend the genres into one continuous format. We feel a good song is a good song and are extremely excited to help broaden our audience’s expectations of what Christian music has to offer without forcing them to change the channel to a specific genre.”
Bill Lurwick, a radio industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience, will be guiding NRT Radio as the program director. “There are so many songs that don’t get played on traditional radio,” says Lurwick, “mostly due to smaller and repetitive playlists built from suggested radio singles. We’re excited to smash the mold that has dominated radio for so long, offering more than 100 songs at launch and adding at least five new songs a week — more than four times the average station — without a single repeat.”
