Our student ministry team decided to take action against over-hurried, overstressed adolescents by organizing a “Sabbath Retreat.” We wanted to develop a space for students to learn about resting and to slow down.

The kids loved it. It built deep community among students and adults. We provided instant practice for silence and solitude through the teaching, resources and time.

For the last several years, the “Sabbath Retreat” has been a huge success for high school and college students who are longing for space to slow down, rest and hear the voice of God more clearly. I invite you to be counter-cultural to the adolescent world in your student ministry and offer a slower, peace-filled, restful retreat.
