It’s been another incredibly successful year for the premiere progressive worship band, Rush Of Fools. Since bursting onto the Christian music scene in 2007 with their self-titled debut on Midas Records, the group has sold more than 118,000 albums with 165,000 digital downloads, performed before an estimated 250,000 fans, has continually enjoyed great chart success with their single releases, and received four Dove nominations for their debut release, Song of the Year: “Undo,” New Artist of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year: “Undo” and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year: Rush of Fools.

The band released their eagerly anticipated sophomore CD, Wonder of the World, in September and was met with critical acclaim. With About.com saying, This young band grows with every passing year and every show they do. I look forward to hearing what they come up with next. Plugged In magazine chimes in, Now they’re back with Wonder of the World, a passionate praise album that shifts effortlessly from bouncy pop/rock (“Lose It All”) to reflective balladeering about God’s irresistible, magnetic presence in the life of His children (“Escape”). New Release Tuesday exclaims, Their sophomore release Wonder of the World (produced by Jason Ingram, Rusty Varenkamp and Scott Davis) will pick up and expand the future career highlights for Rush Of Fools.) HollywoodJesus.com adds, The Jason Ingram-produced band returns with their sophomore album, Wonder of the World, in September, proving they are no one-hit wonders. Additional media includes CBN.com, Billboard magazine, HM magazine, Soul-Audio.com, All Access, GospelMusicChannel.com, Birmingham Christian Family magazine cover story, CMCentral.com, September 2009 cover story in Credo magazine and an August Focus on the Family chapel service.

Rush Of Fools remains a favorite with Christian radio resulting in current airplay on AC and CHR charts with close to 5-million impressions! The title track is No. 7 on Radio & Records Soft AC/Inspo chart, No. 16 on the AC Indicator chart and No. 22 on the AC Monitored chart.  “Lose It All” has had strong response on Radio and Records CHR chart with the song at No. 20 and consistently being listed as Most Added.

This follows the success of their breakout hit from Rush Of Fools self-titled debut project, “Undo,” that landed in the top spot on the AC/CHR charts for five weeks and led to one of the most record-breaking releases from a new act. The song was listed as the 2007 Song of the Year by ASCAP and “AC Song of the Year” by Radio & Records. The follow-up hit, “When Our Hearts Sing,” continued the radio momentum with being a Top 7 AC hit last year.

Rush Of Fools has become one of the hardest working acts in the Christian music industry with their non-stop touring dates. The group just finished the 38-city “What Life Would Be Like Tour” with Big Daddy Weave and this week began the “NewSong Christmas Tour Celebration,” in which Rush Of Fools is the featured artist. The group will headline their own “Wonder of the World Tour” starting February 2009 with Jimmy Needham, along with special guest Sarah Reeves and introducing Joy Lippard.

The group has also taken a stance against pornography and sexual addiction by partnering with Freedom Begins Here, a non-profit organization that is empowering churches and individuals to face the crisis of pornography and sexual addiction. None of the band members ever have struggled with this issue but frontman, Kevin Huguley, explains the band’s involvement. “Marriage and sexuality are not being portrayed as God intended through this crisis, and a whole generation is observing this distortion.” In support of Freedom Begins Here, Rush Of Fools has written a song by the same name that is on their new album, has designed a new T-shirt for the cause, and promotes awareness and donations during their concerts.

The Alabama-based band consists of Wes Willis (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Kevin Huguley (lead vocals, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitar), Jacob Chesnut (bass), Jamie Sharpe (drums) and JD Frazier (electric guitar, keys, vocals). Click here for future updates on the group.
