The Secret Keeper Girl Series is a set of resources that is especially appropriate for adolescent girls. Included in the series are a “date book,” personal journal, Bible study and novel about a group of middle-school girls who struggle to have healthy friendships and follow God.
The date book is geared toward outings with parents and friends. Bible verses and suggestions appear that correlate to each “date.” The Bible study challenges young ladies to keep Jesus in the center of their lives, helping them learn how to make good decisions in the midst of the pressures they face growing up today.
The fictional story, Danika’s Totally Terrible Toss, puts these lessons into a format in which preteens can understand the concepts taught through the studies. In the story, Danika struggles with peer pressure and making wise decisions. Although not all girls will be able to relate to Danika’s specific circumstances, they can all relate to the challenges of standing up for what they believe in the midst of wanting to be accepted and fit in with their peers.
