This is a fun, interactive game that requires no props, supplies or set-up. It works very well for larger groups and is equally adaptable to indoor or outdoor.
Divide the youth group into two teams, each team having a captain. The goal of this game is to see which team can claim all the members of the other team by inviting them over with certain phrases. For example, team one may go first with the captain saying, “Come stand by me if you are wearing white socks.” Those individuals from the other team wearing white socks must then migrate to the other team.
The captain on team then counters with a phrase such as, “Come stand by me if you are wearing earrings.”
The game continues—back-and-forth in this manner—until one team claims everyone. Divide and repeat as often as time allows.
