People are increasingly disconnected from the pain of life and the patience and hard work it takes to just sit in the dirt. We don’t understand the joy at seeing the tiniest speck of green and that in two months it will be a head of cabbage. Or digging up a carrot covered in soil and grime and know it will taste amazing. Faith takes work — not works, but the discipline of showing up to Jesus every day. And I don’t mean this in the sense of a daily devotional.
