Stronger, the fifth studio recording from singer/songwriter, author and speaker Tammy Trent, debuted July 29 (September Day Records/Infinity Music Distribution). Making a release-day appearance on FamilyNet TV’s EveryDay with Marcus & Lisa, Trent performed selections from Stronger and discussed her ongoing journey of healing and restoration following her husband’s tragic death.
Since 1995, Trent has been a familiar voice on Christian radio with a string of hits, including “My Irreplaceable” and “Welcome Home.” She stepped away from the spotlight in 2001 after f her husband died in a diving accident, returning as a featured speaker and performer at Women of Faith conferences in 2003. Trent spent four years with Women of Faith and has been a featured speaker and performer on the organization’s Revolve Tour for teen girls. Her first full-length recording in more than six years, I See Beautiful, bowed in 2006. In addition, her autobiography, Learning to Breathe Again: Choosing Life and Finding Hope After a Shattering Loss, released in 2004 from W Publishing, followed by the 2005 devotional/gift book, Beyond the Sorrow: There’s Hope in the Promises of God, from J. Countryman.
Tammy Trent and her band recently debuted songs from Stronger at 94 FM The FISH’s “Music at the Mills” concert series in Nashville. Produced by Dove Award-winner Bernie Herms, as well as Doug Bieden, Stephen Marshall and Brian Steckler, Stronger features the debut single, “Rain on Me.” Trent wrote or co-penned five of the album’s 11 selections.
Stronger is a celebration of Trent’s hope and trust in Christ and the acknowledgment of His sovereignty through seasons of sorrow and joy. The Grand Rapids Press says, “…the collection brings a mature and hopeful outlook steadied by an inspired determination to face life’s problems with an overcoming faith.”
