GodTube, the evangelical Christian answer to the omnipresent video-sharing site YouTube, recently snagged a $30 million investment from London’s GLG Partners, bringing the site’s overall value to about $150 million.
OK, so New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is worth more. Still, $150 million is nothing to sneeze at, particularly when the site mainly consists of sermons, theological debates and skits with titles like, “See man watching porn get caught by Jesus!” The site is attracting about 1.7 million unique visitors a month, making it one of the Web’s most popular faith-oriented outlets.
