Giving a satisfactory overview of Scripture that is clear enough not to be easily misunderstood, concise enough not be intimidating, and sufficient enough to adequately cover this enormous topic is a tall task rarely attempted or achieved. Hal Seed seems to have tackled it masterfully in his new book The Bible Questions.
In four parts—primary questions, purpose questions, probing questions and practical questions—Seed expertly provides answers to inquiries ranging from: “Who Wrote the Bible?” and “Who Decided What Went into the Bible?” all the way to “When Will Jesus Return?” and “Where Is the Trinity Found in Scripture?” The book is laid forth like an FAQ on the Old and New Testament and the answers are thorough and well-written.
If you have a desire to answer inquiring minds about the particulars of the World’s Most Important Book or maybe you’d like to satisfy your own curiosity about some of the details of the Bible’s purpose or history, this is a tremendous place to start. With only 20 questions, it certainly doesn’t come close to covering every possible point; but for those it does attend to, it does so admirably.
