The Skit Guys – You Teach Vol. 6
Zondervan, December 2010, $24.99
One of the primary ways we serve and equip our youth is by helping them navigate the various relationships in their lives. However, starting and sustaining meaningful discussions about relationships in a group setting often can be a challenge. Eddie James and Tommy Woodard (“the Skit Guys”) have created a resource designed to remedy such dilemmas.
In the sixth installment of the You Teach Series, Eddie and Tommy provide six videos and discussions geared toward engaging youth with the teachings of the Bible. Their trademark humor serves as comic relief for the deep discussions their study guides and message outlines (included on the DVD) are designed to scaffold. Each robust study guide addresses its topic by delving into various parts of Scripture. To end each discussion, there are questions to help students process the material, centuries-old prayers to help students pray and homework assignments to take away. The message outlines give youth workers plenty of material to talk about, and student fill-in versions of the outlines are included.
Through these six lessons, students will be pushed to examine their relationships with the poor, their parents, their words, Jesus, their best friends and with the spiritual discipline of fasting.
