The Strategically Small Church

As a clergy person who served a small church for many years, I thoroughly appreciated O’Brien’s text. This is not a how-to book, and it does not say one type of congregation is better than another; it simply gives helpful advice to those serving small congregations (regardless of whether they’re intentionally strategic).
O’Brien presents ways a small congregation (with a loose definition of what small is) can be authentic, nimble, equipping, intergenerational and training. These are helpful tools for leaders of any size congregation and would make a great gift for new clergy and those who constantly are thinking of ways to improve the ministry God has given them.
