Hello, I am from Michigan and I am a part time youth pastor. We have about 20 – 25 in our jr. and sr. high group. We meet on Wednesdays for our regular youth meeting. We start out at 6:30pm with some light game/activity just to get everyone acquainted with each other. This is usually a team builder or get to know you type of activity. We then get into a team/sports game for about 15 – 20 min. Afterwards move into a time of praise and worship and prayer. We do have a teen band that is just starting up again this year after a year off. After p and w we transition to our teaching for the night. I spend 15 – 20 min. teaching and then we break up into groups of to discuss the teaching and make it more personal. I do try and build the night around a theme but that doesn’t always work out. My main goal is to help the teens see that God is real and wants to be a big part of their lives.
