Thrive is a compilation of devotions by 12 authors in five sections, including devotions on “The Gospels,” “Journeying with God,” “Idolatry,” “Decisions Made Now Affect Your Future” and “Spiritual Disciplines.” The casual writing style will make readers feel at ease, and the bigger print will make them feel as if the devotion is zipping by.
Each devo ends with five questions for the reader to contemplate and journal about. I see this devotion being used in a group as it was intended or by an individual working at his or her own pace, as well as other uses. I plan to give this to my Sunday School teachers so they can work through the book together. This will work well for the teacher who needs a lesson between other studies or as a separate study itself. This devotion covers core Christian doctrines and practical Christianity, so it will be great for new believers or as a reminder for veteran believers.
