Timeless Youth Ministry avoids making outlandish claims about finding the “key” to youth ministry. Rather this book does a terrific job of detailing, as the title suggests, the timeless principles of ministry.
Too often we try to “reinvent the wheel” because we don’t understand the foundational principles of ministry. While not comprehensive in any particular area of ministry, this book lays a foundation for youth leaders to gain a better understanding of adolescence, identity, youth culture, the purpose of youth ministry, models of ministry, teaching methods, etc.
This is an excellent read for youth workers in their first few years of ministry or for lay leaders and search committees striving to understand the place of youth ministry in their church. Veteran youth workers will find some chapters helpful as a resource for dealing with challenging issues.
