Successfully having rescued this book from the toilet, where my irate 17-year-old threw it in a fit of rage (I couldn’t believe the irony), I was more than prepared to discover any truths within its pages. Different from other books about parenting teenagers, this book is written specifically for those who live with what the author defines as “extremely defiant teens.”
Written in an informative and engaging, yet non-judgmental way Toe to Toe is perfect for any parent seeking to understand the teenager in their midst, helping them differentiate between normal teenage conflict and behavior that requires specific intervention. Several of these should be on the shelf of every youth pastor’s office to place in the hands of beleaguered parents. Current youth leaders should be encouraged to read these pages while still “youth ministry experts,” before their own children morph into Teenzilla.
