Totally Awesome, Super-Cool Bible Stories is a new resource from Thomas Nelson for children 12 and younger. The book is a collection of Bible stories that starts in Genesis with creation and works its way to Revelation. Each story is written from the perspective of a middle school student known as Nerdy Ned and what he has been learning in youth group. Each reading is only about a page and a half of text, explaining Scripture in a creative way that children will find easy to understand.
Another neat feature of this book is that every reading also has drawings done by Nerdy Ned to help bring the Bible stories to life. Children will enjoy the pictures, as well as adding their own on the dedicated “Draw Here” pages throughout the book. In all, this is a creative way to help children engage with Bible stories at home or church.
This would be a good resource to get into the hands of parents with younger kids or your Sunday School or Christian Education teachers. It’d be a great complement to a children’s curriculum, taking children through the Bible in a year that could be used in classes to help explain each Bible story or midweek at home with their families to help reinforce the previous Sunday’s lesson.
