This group-building activity is an inspiring way to begin a new year and enlist the creativity of the individual players. Begin by giving each teenager an index card and pencil, and then invite each one to write down a favorite quote, Scripture reference or thought that has been inspiring to them or perhaps has served as a guide in their lives. After each person has accomplished this, collect the index cards, shuffle them, and number the backs. Count off in the group, and then give each person his or her correspondingly numbered index card. As time allows, go around the circle and ask each person to read the inspirational quote for the New Year.
