Matlock’s sixth book in his Wisdom series for teenagers reflects the same careful attention to Scripture and practical advice that characterize his other books, but it may be one of his most important. It is written “for students who have a pretty good, if sometimes difficult, relationship with their folks.”
Unlike many other studies on this topic, Matlock emphasizes God’s expectations for parents, as well as the students’ obligation to honor them. He also makes a valiant effort to help teenagers understand how parents think and feel, using parent interviews, ministry suggestions, conflict-resolution strategies and case studies.
