Queries and proposals have changed as technology has advanced. We think that’s a good thing because the process is more efficient.
To get started, if you’re interested in writing for YWJ print, the first thing you’ll want to do is check out the Guides and Themes.
If a particular theme stirs your passion, then we want to hear from you! To submit a proposal, begin by thinking about the theme in regard to how it relates to youth ministry. Narrow your subject to hone in on a specific issue you think youth workers should know about, how particular knowledge could help their ministries and anything else regarding why what you have to say is important in reaching youth.
Then, create your outline. Once you do that, you can submit it along with a introductory paragraph summarizing the article you are proposing. Email proposals to ALee@SalemPublishing.com.
If you are seeking to write for the site, sign up for the free eJournal (see home page), and be watching your email. It will come to you each week via email and always contains a link where you can sign up for the Salem Publishing Writers Link, which contains information and writing prompts for all writers.
