With the goal of presenting “prayer in honest, naked form,” Writing on the Wall is a compilation of prayers written by people from around the world, all apart of a generation searching for this reality talk.
Youth will love, understand and embrace the gritty God-talk. Youth workers will be hard pressed to fight the urge to reign these thoughts in. These are self-professed “nonreligious” prayers; and contrary to the biblical formula, all laments do not end in praise.
You may want to couple this text with a teaching of the psalms. And for teens who do not pray because they believe they do not know how, this collection of “modern day psalms” teaches that if we can think, feel, talk, write or read, we can pray.
