Y-origins. Y-Jesus. Y-zine. Y, you ask?
The topics of Jesus and of the origins of life have gotten a lot of press lately. Every year the major news magazines pretend they have a new angle on Jesus. And every week, there’s a story about pseudoscience attacking real science or real science not looking at the evidence. These two well-designed, durable magazine-format books take on these topics in seven or eight articles each.
Y-Origins features numerous experts who appear to be questioning Enlightenment presuppositions. Take George Greenstein, theoretical astrophysicist: “Is it possible that
suddenly, without intending to, we have stumbled upon the scientific proof of the existence of a Supreme Being?” Y-Jesus tackles matters like the reliability of the New Testament, prophecy and Jesus conspiracies.
The developers state on their Web site, “We believe it is wrong to laugh off evidence, regardless of which way it leads.” While they list lots of evidence, they often belittle the thinking of their opponents.
Each Y-zine is a great primer on Intelligent Design or Jesus and both provide resource lists for further study.
