Eric Fromm, the 21-year-old student body president for Northwest Christian University, recently revealed to his peers that he doesn’t believe in God and never did during his college career.
Fromm made the announcement in the student paper Beacon Bolt. He said he chose the college because it had a good communications program. He studied the school to make sure he could navigate the school’s religious environment with comfort.
Though he was nervous about revealing his lack of religious identity to his fellow students and faculty, he says he’s received a great deal of support. No surprise there, the university’s leadership says.
“All of our students are on a journey,” says Jeannine Jones, director of university relations at Northwest Christian. “While the majority of our students profess a Christian faith, not all do. We as an institution meet students where they are at and believe that our God is big enough.” (ABC News)
