It’s been a long 18 months for pop star Justin Bieber. He’s been arrested for DUI, investigated for graffiti, accosted for aggressively insulting photographers and denigrated for his often clueless remarks. Yet after being interviewed on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Bieber posted a video on Facebook expressing regret for what he’s put his fans—and the rest of us—through lately.

“I was really nervous [on the show], and I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now,” he said. “I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited. Basically, how I have been acting the past year, year and a half.”

He seemed to suggest that his misbehavior was the result of youth, arrogance and lots of attention. “I’m not what I was pretending to be,” he said. “We pretend to be something we are not. We cover up what we are truly feeling inside. There were a lot of feelings going on in there. Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Growing up in general is hard; but yeah, I felt awkward up there. People were judging me, and I really want people to know how much I care.” (ABC News)
