Cell phones don’t raise the risk of children developing brain tumors, according to a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The study found that children who used cell phones were no more likely to develop brain cancer than children who didn’t. Scientists also say adults probably can breathe a little easier about their cell phone usage, as well. According to USA Today, “They [the scientists] note there has been no increase in brain tumors—among kids or adults—since cell phones came into widespread use in the 1990s. In their editorial, they note there were 285 million cell phone subscribers in 2009 in the United States alone. If cell phones really did cause brain tumors, doctors likely would have noticed this by now, they write.” (USA Today)
