Children who come from broken homes are more likely to be obese, according to a new study out of Norway. Researchers studied about 1,000 third-graders, about 20 percent of whom were classified as obese. However, obesity rates went up by 50 percent for kids whose parents had divorced.
Boys from broken homes were especially prone to be carrying extra weight, with 63 percent of them more likely to be obese than boys with married parents. (Time)
