Children as young as 13 are undergoing weight-loss surgery in Great Britain, according to a report by the Health and Social Care Information Centre.
The fact that British kids are undergoing surgery to shrink the size of their stomachs perhaps is not that surprising, given that childhood obesity is a big problem in the United Kingdom (as it is in much of the developed world). About 17 percent of British kids are classified as obese—up from the 11 percent who where considered obese 20 years ago. (Daily Mail)
