One of Facebook’s most talked-about apps is one that most folks hope not to use for a very, very long time. Called “If I die,” the app allows users to post a last message and/or video to their Facebook pages in the event of their passing. The message is only posted if three trustees—whom the user selects ahead of time—confirm the user is, in fact, dead. Morbid? Perhaps. One Facebooker wrote, “If FB is the best you can do for after-death messages, you probably don’t have any very exciting secrets to share anyway.” Experts say the app may cut down on the flaming and trolling that takes place on Facebook memorial pages.
