A teen who drives with Mom in the car tends to drive more safely, according to a Temple University study. Researchers had teens participate in a driving simulation that gauged risk-taking behavior—most specifically, whether to run a yellow light. Teens driving alone ran yellow lights about 55 percent of the time. If Mom was along for the ride, the rate went down to 45 percent. (Live Science)
