A religious flap is brewing in North Carolina regarding the issue of religious texts in schools. The controversy started when Ginger Strivelli’s 12-year-old son brought home a Bible from North Windy Ridge Intermediate School in Buncombe County. Strivelli, who practices witchcraft, asked the school where her son would’ve gotten the Bible. School officials said several boxes of the books had been delivered to the school by Gideon International: The school didn’t push them on anyone, but rather made them available to students who wished to take one home—just as they would with any religious text. Strivelli returned with a collection of pagan spell books. North Windy Ridge officials, however, turned her and her books away. For now, the Buncombe County School District has decided against accepting any donated religious texts until it can review its policy. They’ll discuss the matter further Feb. 2. (Fox News)
