What scares people? Quite a bit, according to a survey conducted by Chapman University. Corruption topped the list of what people are terrified of, with 58 percent of those polled admitting to being afraid or very afraid.
Computer-based fears dominated the list, with cyber-terrorism clocking into second place (44.8%) corporate data-tracking third (44.6%) and government tracking of personal data fifth (41.4%, a bit behind fourth-place terrorist attack). The list also suggests that horror movies scare us, too: The threat of zombies terrifies 8.5 percent of Americans—finishing slightly ahead of vaccines and clowns. (Chapman University)
