With social networking outlets now such an important part of our lives, many universities are turning to Tumblr to connect with prospective students. Tumblr, one of the Internet’s Top 10 sites, is very popular with young adults. Its platform makes it easy to post a variety of different types of things without cluttering up a given page, and those who use it can ask questions of posters anonymously. “For kids anticipating the college process, it’s a little uncomfortable that we might be able to attach their identity to what they’re engaging with on our social screens,” says Bowen Posner, senior assistant director of admissions at Yale University. It has become a prime connection point for prospective college students and those already admitted. (Time)
